Your videos and writings feel like I'm hearing from a more clever self. I've held similar dreams, but you've figured out how to achieve them. I appreciate how you think. Your insights are deeply considered and enrich me. I'm 67 but still learning. 😃

Great historical analogy, insightful metaphor. I invite you to read the Africanus trilogy by Eduardo Posteguillo. He explains how the survivors of those 2 legions that lost in Cannae were sent into exile to Sicily and called the Cursed Legions and condemned to never return to Rome. The young Scipio, after many years trying to convince the Senate to bring the war to Carthage instead of Verrocus strategy, he succeeded but only with the condition to use the Cursed Legions of Cannae. It worked. Hannibal had to leave Italy but the Carthage senate, afraid of the power and fame Hannibal had acquired in his Italian campaign, sent fewer ships than necessary and Hannibal had to leave behind a substantial part of his army behind. So the defeat at Zama was seeded by Carthage’s own Senate. The strategic brilliance of Scipio Africanus to fight the terrifying Carthaginian war elephants was the final key to defeat Hannibal.

Sorry for the long comment.

I won't forget that analogy! This is the kind of logic that makes my brain tick. Thanks!!

I'm not gonna lie I really was wondering where you were going with this when you started talking about Hannibal, but you really stuck the landing in the end 😅 Awesome job with the storytelling and weaving in the historical context. This was a great read!

Very relevant and full of wisdom as always. Thank you for sharing in words what I’m currently struggling with and not being able to put articulate it well enough to express the struggle. I’m a sprinter learning how to maintain a “sustainable momentum” to complete the marathon, it takes patience, self restraint, and practice. Just need to stay in the game!

I like the idea of winning by not losing. It comes right as I’m transitioning to slow and steady progress instead of all or nothing.

Amazing. I have a question for you Nathaniel. I am travelling in Paris. What whould you suggest me to visit other than the normal ones. Its my second time so we will not go to the same places. We will only revisit Cathédrale Νotre-Dame de Paris and Tour Eiffel. I would love your suggestion ♥️.

You're like come at me bro 😊, using Rome and Carthage as your example. But to me, now it looks like you're doing the instrumental brass ball dance in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang *double-claps*

Very engaging correspondence this month. Wonder if we all can learn anything meaningful about or from it? Maybe the risks and dangers of how somebodies well intentioned idea, invention or creation created in love for good. Also leaves open the door of choice to others that would steal it to use in their own selfish ends, that would manipulate it instead into a weapon for exploiting others. A corruption of innocence in the purity thats different than what it was originally intended to be.

Suck on that for awhile

Reading this piece on its own would have been insightful in its own right, but I feel I get an added sense of appreciation having seen the full progression of these essays. The weaving of a narrative, and the beautiful, punchy nuggets of wisdom that fill each one, gets better with every essay!

I can really relate to this. "I tried Hannibals (horrifying) daily routine" - for like 10 years, now I'm switching tactics. 😂
